CT Tech PRN

Facility/Clinic 1901 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, 75061 Shift PRN: Variable shifts, days, nights, weekends. Requirements 1 year of acute care hospital CT experience. ARRT-CT and ARRT-R Radiography certifications. BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer. Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT). Job Summary The CT Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs CT procedures on patients to aid in diagnosis. The technologist follows established protocols and works as part of a healthcare team. Essential Functions of the Role Performs high‑quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of radiation dose reference levels and takes action if exceeded. Uses iSTAT point‑of‑care testing to obtain creatinine levels. Communicates with patients through AIDET, ensuring correct exams and patient comfort. Prepares the patient and equipment, adjusting controls to set exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by following safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Reports issues to management, assists with supplies inventory, and ensures safe entry screening. Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation (requisition, chart, history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms). Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and ensures timely interpretation. Key Success Factors Perform high‑quality CT procedures promptly and accurately. Explain procedures and put patients at ease. Provide services cost‑efficiently while following system and regulatory standards. Work autonomously without routine oversight. Remain calm and helpful during stress, resolving issues as needed. Administer first aid and use emergency cart effectively. Limit wait times and provide courteous service to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and skills for care of all patient ages. Serve as preceptor, training new team members. Be available to take call if required. Certifications / Licensure Graduate of an accredited radiologic program. 1 year of acute care hospital CT experience. ARRT-CT Certified and ARRT-R (or Nuclear Medicine) Certified; CNMT accepted. BLS certification. Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
