Position Overview

Our organization is currently in search of a Section Chief of Imaging Informatics for the Radiology Service at our medical center located in Phoenix, Arizona. This department provides a wide range of radiology subspecialty services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care for Veterans throughout central Arizona.

• Manage the enterprise-wide PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) operations.
• Supervise staff dedicated to PACS operations, ensuring efficient digital image sharing between our facility and Community Care partners.
• Oversee the Radiology Service, which is one of the largest clinical departments within our organization, comprising over 130 employees across 9 specialty divisions, such as:
  • Staff Radiology
  • Vascular and Interventional Radiology Services
  • CT Services
  • Nuclear Medicine Services
  • Ultrasound Services
  • Breast Imaging Services
  • Diagnostic Radiology
  • MRI Services
  • Clerical Services
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations, as well as quality monitoring and maintenance across all divisions.
• Provide leadership in subspecialty and general radiology coverage, with a preference for candidates specializing in Neuroradiology or Musculoskeletal Radiology.

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Salary: Competitive annual salary of up to $400,000, along with performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
• Sign-on Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time off, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
• Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

• Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage included.
• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

• Must possess a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution.
• Hold a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, maintaining an active status.
• U.S. Citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
