Registered Nurse (RN)
The Intermediate Care unit is a 12-bed facility that employs critical care and neuroscience principles. It primarily cares for patients transitioning from the Neuro ICU and those who have experienced various neuro trauma, including subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhages. The unit also caters to ENT cancer patients following tumor resection and flap reconstruction, as well as post-operative spine patients and a diverse range of neurological issues.
Shift Information
Shift Type: Day
Schedule: 3x12-Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
Every other weekend and holiday required
Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
Block scheduling not available
Workload and Patient Care
The Registered Nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:3, providing comprehensive care and support to patients with complex medical needs.
Qualifications
Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
NIH Stroke Scale certification is mandatory
Experience with Epic electronic health records is essential
Must adhere to floating policies within the institution
Time Off and Scheduling Flexibility
Approval for 40 hours of time off is available
Virginia nursing license pending is acceptable for application
