CDL Driver

Job Summary

Operates company trucks to transport and deliver materials, equipment, and supplies to construction projects and company yards. Ensures loads are properly secured, vehicles and trailers are inspected, and all transportation activities are performed safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates company trucks to transport materials, equipment, and supplies between construction projects, company yards, and other designated locations.
• Maintains the appropriate commercial driver's license (CDL) and medical card required to operate equipment.
• Maintains required driving logs, inspection reports, and other documentation in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable traffic laws, highway regulations, vehicle weight limits, load capacities, and trailer requirements.
• Loads and unloads materials and equipment as required.
• Secures loads using appropriate chains, binders, straps, and other approved load-securing devices.
• Inspects loads before departure and corrects or reports unsafe loading or securing conditions.
• Inspects trucks, trailers, and loads before each trip or movement to ensure they are safe for transport.
• Identifies and reports vehicle or equipment defects and ensures unsafe conditions are addressed before operation.
• Connects and disconnects step deck trailers, high flat trailers, lowboys, and other towable equipment as required.
• Ensures materials and equipment are transported safely and delivered to the designated locations as scheduled.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to exert the following levels of force to move objects:

• Occasionally: 50–100 pounds.
• Frequently: 25–50 pounds.
• Constantly: 10–20 pounds.

The work requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment while standing, walking, or sitting, as required by the job.

Work Environment and Safety Requirements

• Works in construction environments, company yards, and on public roadways near heavy equipment, moving traffic, and other potential hazards.
• Requires agility, coordination, alertness, and awareness of surrounding conditions when operating vehicles and handling materials.
• Must be able to safely access and exit trucks and trailers and properly use mirrors, windows, controls, and gauges to operate the vehicle.
• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to perform assigned tasks safely.
• Must follow instructions and adapt to flexible work schedules as required by project demands.
