Job Summary RESPIRATORY THERAPIST WANTED AT THE DANBURY HOSPITAL. Due to growth and promotions within the department, the Danbury Respiratory team is seeking an RRT to join its dynamic team. Most shift openings are nights with generous shift differentials and a $25,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates. Shift Schedule: 12‑hour shifts every other weekend (645P-715A) and other shifts as needed. Location: 456‑bed Danbury Hospital, Western Connecticut. Responsibilities Manage ventilator and rounding protocol; assist MD in assessing cardiopulmonary status. Perform assessments and treat hypoxia/bronchospasm with appropriate modalities (O₂, bronchodilators). Draw arterial blood gases, analyze results, and recommend therapy changes. Provide non‑invasive mask ventilation (BIPAP/CPAP). Manage neonate and surgical patients on ventilators. Educate patients on disease state and home regimen to reduce readmission. Respond to trauma alerts, code green, code 33, and code blue; stabilize patients. Transport ventilator patients. Enter charges and changes per patient into computer; document per department standards. Attend mandatory in‑services, department meetings, and assist in orientation/education of new staff. Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in respiratory care (Level DGRE). RRT qualification required. Board certification: NBRC, RESP. CPR – Healthcare Provider. Ventilator management skills for adults and NICU. Minimum one year experience. Shift & Compensation Hourly: $33.21 – $61.68.
