Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Nights

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 8-Hour Nights. Weekend Requirements: At a minimum every other weekend. Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation.

Job Description

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential support in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), assisting with patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. Responsibilities include monitoring patient vitals, providing personal care, and assisting with procedural tasks to ensure a high standard of care for patients transitioning from ICU or facing various medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record patient vitals regularly.
• Provide A.M./P.M. care and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Restock supplies and run errands as needed.
• Perform EKGs and monitor outputs.
• Conduct bladder scans and blood glucose testing.
• Communicate significant changes in patient conditions to nursing staff and physicians promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) certification via NHA required.
