Electrical And Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Join our team in Pittsburgh, PA, a vibrant city known for its rich industrial history and thriving tech scene. We are seeking a skilled professional to electrically and mechanically maintain our facility, ensuring smooth operations and safety.

Work Schedule: 4 on 4 off (rotating), 5am - 5pm, & then 5pm - 5am

Reports To: Crew Supervisor

Department: Direct Maintenance

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment
  • Conduct all Preventive Maintenance program work, update PM computer system, and respond to equipment failures and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving safety, quality, efficiency, and product offerings.
  • Perform all facility maintenance, including equipment alignment, spares buildup, instrument calibration and repair, new equipment installations, electrical, pipefitting, hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication, welding, and mechanical repairs.
  • Apply electrical, electronic, and software skills to solve problems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electronic control systems and combustion furnace equipment.
  • Work on all components of the Hot Dip Galvanizing line.
  • Undertake any other duties deemed necessary throughout the plant.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience with preventative maintenance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Well organized
  • Effective troubleshooting skills
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Good leadership abilities
  • Competitive score on Maintenance aptitude tests
  • Maintenance experience in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics
  • Ability to read prints and drawings
  • Proficient in using hand tools, torches, grinders, micrometers, calipers, and spacer gages
  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated use of multimeter/oscilloscope to measure AC and DC voltages, currents, and resistances
  • Understanding of 480V, 3 phase electrical systems
  • Understanding of principles of Lockout/Tagout/Tryout
  • Understanding of Electrical Safety practices including deenergizing exposed energized conductors and understanding Arc Flash and Shock protection principles
  • Understanding of plant control systems including PLCs, HMIs, Drives, Actuators, and Instrumentation

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Galvanizing Knowledge
  • Predictive Maintenance
