Job Title

Cardiac OR RNFA – Registered Nurse First Assist

Location

New York, NY

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 36–48 hours per week | Primarily weekdays 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM | On-call responsibilities per unit need

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing during cardiac surgical procedures
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures
• First assist in complex cardiac cases including CABGs, structural heart cases, minimally invasive procedures, and heart failure cases
• Support procedures involving devices such as Impella and structural interventions such as Bentall and Mini Aortic Valve Replacement
• Participate in heart transplant procedures as needed
• Fulfill on-call responsibilities in accordance with unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
• Active New York State RN license
• CNOR certification
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Telemetry competency

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience first assisting in DaVinci robotic cardiac cases
• Ability to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases
• Prior experience with heart transplant procedures
