Registered NursePeoria, Illinois, United StatesTitle: Registered Nurse Practice: Associated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Location: Peoria, IL Pay: $27.00 - $37.00Position Purpose:The Registered Nurse supports the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care within our oral surgery practice. This role provides clinical support before, during, and after procedures; ensures adherence to safety and compliance standards; and promotes exceptional patient experience. The RN works closely with the surgeon and clinical team to prepare patients, assist during surgery, monitor patient status, and support postoperative recovery while maintaining an efficient clinical workflow.Essential FunctionsPatient Care & Clinical SupportWork collaboratively with physicians to deliver exceptional patient care in all phases of treatmentMonitor patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively for complicationsRecover and safely discharge patients following proceduresPerform and document patient care accurately and thoroughlyStart, maintain, and discontinue IVsAdminister pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative medications as orderedDraw blood and perform patient glucose testing; maintain glucose monitorsPerform PRP proceduresRead and interpret EKG stripsMedication & Controlled Substance ManagementMaintain accurate narcotics, medication, and patient medication recordsOrder medications and oversee documentation and controlled substance countsField and process all prescription requestsMaintain emergency medications and equipment, including defibrillatorsClinical Operations & Workflow CoordinationDirect patient flow within the clinical area and assign patients to clinical staff as appropriateReview patient charts and alert staff and physicians to positive medical history findingsPerform charting and ensure charts are complete and accurateAudit surgical EMR notes for accuracy and complianceInfection Control & SafetyOversee sterilization processes and related documentation to ensure compliance with infection control standardsMaintain emergency equipment and coordinate regular emergency training drills for clinical staffPatient Communication & Follow-UpMake post-operative patient calls and provide pre- and post-operative communication as neededRespond to patient phone calls and clinical inquiriesContact patients regarding medical clearances and confirm understanding of requirementsMedical Clearance & Pathology CoordinationSend medical clearance requests per physician instructions and maintain detailed tracking logsDocument clearance instructions clearly in the patient chart to support scheduling and complianceSend biopsy specimens to the Oral Surgery Pathology Lab and confirm receipt and documentation of pathology reportsInventory & Supply ManagementAssist in maintaining supply lists and communicate needs to the Office AdministratorQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalency, requiredAssociate or bachelor's degree in nursing (ADN or BSN) preferredCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing stateWilling to take the DAANCE CertificationBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
