Radiologic Technologist

The Radiologic Technologist provides expedited care for patients by performing X-ray exams as ordered by providers. The role involves assisting with front office activities as well as back office clinical activities. In the front office, tasks include greeting and assisting patients in a professional manner and registering patients in the electronic medical record (EMR). Payments for services are processed as required. In the back office, responsibilities include rooming and triaging patients, documenting vital signs, and obtaining and processing patient specimens for point-of-care tests. The technologist prepares the radiology suite, equipment, and materials as necessary. Standard protocols are followed to prepare patients for X-ray studies, capturing images, and documenting appropriately in the EMR. Cleaning and staging exam rooms between patients is essential. The technologist monitors the receipt of X-ray images and their availability in the Radiology department. Restocking shelves and suites when supplies are received is a regular duty. Assisting with training activities for new employees may also be required. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
