Job Summary Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’s competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within a designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education MINIMUM: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience MINIMUM: None. PREFERRED: Completion of a peri‑anesthesia or critical care internship/training course. Certifications & Licensure Required: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or eligibility for state board certification. Preferred Certifications & Licensure Surgery — CNOR Board eligible/certified Post Anesthesia — CPAN Board eligible/certified GI Lab — SGNA Board eligible/certified Required Courses / Completions Basic Life Support (BLS) — Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must complete AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — Must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for all Surgical Services areas. Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — Must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for Post Anesthesia Care Unit for licensed staff caring for pediatrics. Includes the following facilities: North Central Baptist, St. Luke’s Baptist, Westover Hills Baptist and Resolute Baptist Hospital.
