Job Title Instrument and Electrical Technician II or III Compensation Level II: $71.10/hr Level III: $86.90/hr Location Midland, TX – Hwy 80 location Schedule 5/2 | Monday–Friday | 40 hours per week Rotational on-call coverage required Quantity 1 Target Start Date ASAP Scope The Instrument and Electrical Technician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and instrumentation systems supporting oil and gas production equipment. This position evaluates equipment and system problems, develops repair plans, verifies completed work, and ensures all activities comply with company standards, regulatory requirements, and established safety practices. The technician will provide technical support to other team members and may serve as the Instrument and Electrical Lead when needed. Key Responsibilities Plan, update, and oversee assigned activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental performance. Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Evaluate electrical and instrumentation systems and establish appropriate repair plans. Document identified problems, corrective actions, and completed work. Support collaboration among operations, engineering, maintenance, and project teams. Provide input on control specifications, work practices, and technical procedures. Maintain accountability for electrical and control systems as defined by the Work Management Manual. Apply and follow the Permit to Work System requirements. Ensure the quality and timely completion of work scheduled through the Maintenance Program. Support work prioritization to maximize maintenance effectiveness and coordinate with other work groups. Provide technical support to technicians performing maintenance and troubleshooting on company electrical and instrumentation systems. Generate Management of Change requests for electrical and control equipment and installations. Follow up with installation inspections consistent with OIMS Element 3 requirements. Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations for compliance with company requirements. Recommend equipment or system upgrades when appropriate. Participate in and, when needed, lead technical meetings covering specifications, codes, procedures, technology, and safe work practices. Develop and maintain effective communication regarding training, materials, technical issues, and safe work practices. Continue developing personal and team technical capabilities related to new equipment, methods, regulations, and technologies. Serve as the Instrument and Electrical Lead when needed. Required Qualifications Minimum of five years of relevant instrument and electrical maintenance experience. Experience maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a processing plant, oil and gas production facility, or offshore production facility. Working knowledge of regulations applicable to oil and gas operations. Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance, testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Ability to follow work permitting, maintenance, and safety procedures. Basic computing skills. Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities. Good communication, organization, documentation, and reporting skills. Strong attention to detail. Safety-focused work habits. Ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree, preferably supplemented by relevant technical-school coursework. Familiarity with OIMS requirements, company manuals, and related operating procedures. Completion of applicable safety, administrative, technical, and Operations Integrity Critical competency training. Additional Information Local candidates are required due to the rotational on-call schedule. No per diem is available. Agency-provided half-ton truck with toolbox.
