Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with mandatory spine and total joint experience for a night shift OR position at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, CA.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 212 staffed beds,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30),
• Weekends required and may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs,
• On-call required as needed; on-call response time is 30 minutes,
• Weekend/holiday on-call windows: 07:00-19:00 and 07:00-07:00,
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated,
• Required case types include general, orthopedic, spine, total joints, urology, endoscopic/laparoscopic, vascular, GYN, C-sections, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, and D&C,
• Preferred case types include ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, ENT, and robotic-assisted GYN procedures,
• Charting via Epic (required),
• Floating to an outpatient surgery pavilion (3 OR suites) required as needed,
• Free parking available on site,
• Scrubs provided for OR staff,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience required,
• Spine and total joint experience is mandatory - candidates without this experience will not be considered,
• CST certification required; either NBSTSA or NCCT national certification is acceptable,
• BLS certification required,
• CA license required if applicable,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Experience scrubbing required,
• Inpatient OR experience required,
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System experience required,
• First-time travelers accepted with 3 or more years of experience,
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Candidates must disclose any prior work at a Providence facility (as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem), including location and dates,
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler,
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination,
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate - contact your recruiter for details,
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local,
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day,
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; excessive RTO requests may delay the process,
• SPD experience preferred,
• Preferred skills include robotic-assisted GYN procedures, ambulatory OR experience, and sterile processing department (SPD) tasks such as scope reprocessing and instrument assembly
