Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Job ID: 10439988 | Amazon Data Services, Inc. AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. Key Job Responsibilities Scale support of several data center locations and provide day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks, and network implementation and troubleshooting. Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects. Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords. Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment. Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware. Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license; company transportation will not be provided. A Day in the Life Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks. Track network rack intake and delivery; work with onsite teams to request rack space, power and cooling; partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready. Perform link and device troubleshooting within a service‑level agreement. Perform console builds and room builds to provide additional space and capacity for customer racks. Work with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer networking experience. 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in computer networking and working with Linux operating systems. Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds. Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. Preferred Qualifications Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment). Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+), or experience working in a colocation data center facility. Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, packet capture tools) or experience in managing and troubleshooting network. Knowledge of networking protocols such as DNS, and TCP/IP.
