Contract | Nights (3×12 Hours, 19:00-07:30) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit primarily serving adult patients recovering from traumatic injuries requiring surgical intervention
• Monitor and manage hemodynamically stable patients with diagnoses including gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed, with telemetry monitoring capability for up to 14 patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, Radiology, and Social Services
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Float to other units and/or campuses as requested based on census needs, limited to areas where competencies have been demonstrated and documented

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and Telemetry (TELE) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a PCU/Progressive Care setting
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Must successfully complete a medication competency test prior to assignment
• Must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible (night shift Progressive Care applicants); candidates between 50-99.9 miles may be subject to a reduced bill rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of experience preferred for first-time travelers
• Prior experience caring for surgical trauma patients in a progressive care or stepdown environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a high-acuity setting
