Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LCSW)

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LCSW) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered outpatient psychotherapy and comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric conditions. You will conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments, formulate DSM-5-informed diagnoses, and develop individualized, measurable treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique needs, strengths, culture, and goals. Using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed interventions, trauma-focused therapies, and other modalities aligned with your training, you will provide individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy in both in-person and telehealth formats.
As a member of an inclusive and collaborative clinical team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, case managers, and other mental health professionals to coordinate holistic care that supports positive outcomes. Responsibilities include ongoing risk assessment and crisis intervention, safety planning, timely documentation of all clinical encounters in the electronic health record (EHR), and active participation in case consultation and interdisciplinary treatment meetings. You will monitor progress toward treatment goals, adjust interventions as clinically indicated, and maintain communication with relevant support systems, such as primary care providers, schools, and community agencies, in alignment with patient consent and ethical standards.
