Automotive Technician

Are you an experienced, detail-oriented automotive technician looking to take your career to the next level? Symdon Chevrolet of Mt Horeb is seeking a *Certified General Motors (GM) Automotive Technician* to join our high-volume, state-of-the-art service department.

In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and service a wide variety of GM vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac). If you pride yourself on fixed-right-the-first-time results, excel in a fast-paced environment, and want to work with a supportive team, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

* *Diagnose and Repair:* Accurately diagnose and perform mechanical and electrical repairs on GM vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
* *Advanced Diagnostics:* Utilize GM diagnostic tools and software (GDS2, Tech2, Service Information) to troubleshoot complex drivability and electrical issues.
* *Routine Maintenance:* Perform factory-scheduled maintenance services, multi-point inspections, oil changes, and fluid exchanges.
* *Quality Control:* Road-test vehicles to ensure quality repairs and complete comprehensive repair orders accurately and on time.
* *Continuous Learning:* Complete ongoing factory-certified training to stay current on new GM technologies, including EV (Electric Vehicle) platforms.
* *Shop Safety:* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to all company, OSHA, and manufacturer safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

* *Experience:* Minimum of 2+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
* *GM Experience:* Proven hands-on experience working on GM vehicles is *required*.
* *Certifications:*
* GM Factory Certifications strongly preferred.
* ASE Certifications (Master ASE preferred).
* *Tools:* Must have your own set of professional-grade tools.
* *Driver's License:* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
* *Skills:* Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
