Provides essential surgical assistance by performing routine and delegated duties in accordance with departmental and hospital standards to ensure high-quality patient care. The role involves supporting surgical teams in diverse procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring smooth operative workflows. Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments prior to procedures.
- Maintain sterile environments, adhering to infection control policies.
- Support surgeons during procedures with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient status and document relevant information during surgery.
- Follow departmental protocols for safety and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Hold a current CST licensure (NBSTSA).
- Possess BLS certification from AHA.
- Minimum of 5 years of surgical support experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency with vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, or cardiac surgeries (preferred).
- Maintain HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to work 4 nights per week, 10 hours each, including weekends and on-call shifts.
