Physical Education Aide

Physical Education Assistant

Provide support to the Physical Education Teacher in all tasks regarded as necessary in the conduct of a class both in and outside of the classroom and school building.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist Physical Education Teacher with all tasks assigned by the teacher.
• Assist Physical Education Teacher in supervision of children.
• Assist Physical Education Teacher in ensuring the safety of students in physical education activities.
• Assist Physical Education Teacher in maintaining an inventory and ensure safe working condition of all health and physical education equipment.
• Assist the Physical Education Teacher by ensuring the safety and health of all students by notifying the teacher/administrator of any unsafe conditions.
• Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend required meetings.
• Assist the Physical Education Teacher in managing student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of physical education terminology and practices
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience:

• Some experience working with children
