We are seeking an Obsolescence Manager to own and manage the component lifecycle management process across Varian products. This role is responsible for coordinating supplier component discontinuations, maintaining an obsolescence backlog, tracking lifecycle risks, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support timely resolution of obsolescence-related activities.

As the business process owner for obsolescence management, you will leverage HOTT (Healthineers Obsolescence Transparency Tool) and established lifecycle management processes to support risk identification, prioritization, reporting, and execution.

**This role is designed to be supported on a hybrid basis to the Palo Alto, CA HQ with full remote flexibility for the right experience/skillset**

What You will do:

• Manage component lifecycle transitions, supplier discontinuation notifications (PDNs), product change notifications (PCNs), and end-of-life (EOL) events impacting Varian products.
• Serve as the primary owner of the obsolescence management process and HOTT deployment within the organization.
• Maintain and prioritize an obsolescence backlog and coordinate activities needed to address lifecycle risks.
• Collect and analyze lifecycle risk data from suppliers, internal systems, and key stakeholders.
• Assess product, manufacturing, service, and inventory impacts associated with component obsolescence.
• Coordinate mitigation activities across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management.
• Support Last Time Buy (LTB) planning activities, including demand consolidation and inventory assessments.
• Escalate high-risk obsolescence issues and help drive resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to provide visibility into lifecycle risks and mitigation activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve lifecycle management processes, tools, and workflows.

What You will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in supply chain, operations, procurement, manufacturing, quality, project management, product lifecycle management, or related business functions.
• Experience working in medical device, semiconductor, electronics, consumer products, industrial manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or other complex product environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects, processes, or operational activities.
• Knowledge of component lifecycle management, supplier discontinuations, end-of-life (EOL) activities, and Last Time Buy (LTB) processes.
• Experience working with ERP, PLM, and reporting systems (SAP and Power BI preferred).

The base pay range for this position is:

$115,980 - $159,478

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
