Position Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP/Caregiver/CNA) Position Location: Brookfield and Waukesha, WI Pay Range: Starting at up to $19.00/hr Responsibilities As a DSP in our Waukesha and Greater Milwaukee Area programs, you will plan and teach recreational activities as well as activities of daily living, provide personal care, and support community integration for adults with developmental disabilities. In this role you will perform other duties such as transporting clients locally (Waukesha/Brookfield and surrounding area), completing and maintaining accurate reports, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. After completing our training program, you will be a CBRF certified DSP. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, clients, and employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to problem solve with a variety of variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret and follow instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization and valid vehicle insurance. Ability to complete and maintain all required training in accordance with organizational, County, State, and Federal regulations. Driving Requirements: This position requires that an employee be able to drive for work purposes and must maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization. This position may also require the use of the employee’s personal vehicle. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to respond to and de‑escalate behavior issues. Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to talk or hear; smell; stand and walk; and use hands to finger, handle, and touch. The employee is regularly required to reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. If the lift is greater than 50 pounds, the employee is encouraged to get assistance. Work Environment: The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
