Head of Product Management - Capillus

Title: Head of Product Management - Capillus Reports to: President & CMO Team: Product (new function), sitting outside Engineering and Marketing and working cross-functionally with both. First hire in what is intended to grow into a category-based Product organization (e.g., Hair/Scalp, Beauty/Wellness). Location: Doral, FL Role Summary This is a rare opportunity to help build the Capillus product function from the ground up. As the company enters its next growth phase, there's a clear mandate, with full executive backing, to establish product strategy and portfolio management as a true company-wide practice: owning research, positioning, pricing, specs/regulatory clearances, packaging, and quality consistency as one connected discipline. You’ll partner closely with Engineering (build execution), Regulatory (compliance and clinical data), and Growth & Commerce (go-to-market) to define how Capillus builds the right products, for the right people, at the right price, with real latitude to set the scope, process, and cross-team collaboration model for the function. This is a build-it-yourself role for someone who wants genuine ownership, not a seat at an already-established table. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain the Capillus product roadmap and portfolio strategy, prioritized against market opportunity, margin, and company growth targets. Establish a repeatable, documented process for new product development and SKU decisions. Own pricing and positioning strategy across the portfolio, in partnership with Growth & Commerce and Finance. Partner with Regulatory to translate compliance requirements and peer-reviewed clinical data into product claims, differentiation, and marketing input. Partner with Engineering to translate product strategy into build specs, and hold the line on quality and consistency across releases. Manage packaging strategy and specs, ensuring consistency across the product line. Define target customer segments and use-cases per product/category, and keep that definition current as the business grows. Lay the foundation for a category-based Product team as the company scales (e.g., Hair/Scalp, Beauty/Wellness), starting as a sole owner and eventually hiring and managing category Product Managers. Report on portfolio health and roadmap progress to executive leadership. Requirements 8+ years in product management or portfolio strategy, ideally in consumer devices, luxury consumer goods, DTC, or regulated health/beauty products. Demonstrated experience building a product function or practice from scratch; this is not a role for someone who has only executed against an existing roadmap. Experience translating regulatory, clinical, or compliance input into commercial positioning and differentiation. Strong written communicator with excellent organizational and planning skills, able to document direction clearly and drive effective cross-team collaboration across Engineering, Regulatory, and Growth & Commerce. Expert in pricing and portfolio economics (margin, COGS, channel pricing). Nice to Have Experience in hair/scalp, beauty, wellness, supplements, topicals, or medical device categories. Experience building a product org with category-based teams.
