The Higher Education Analyst provides analytical, research and transactional support to investment bankers in work relating to tax-exempt and taxable debt capital markets activities and work in mergers and acquisitions, asset and infrastructure monetization, and public private partnerships. PURPOSE

The Higher Education Analyst provides analytical, research and transactional support to investment bankers in work relating to tax-exempt and taxable debt capital markets activities and work in mergers and acquisitions, asset and infrastructure monetization, and public private partnerships. Analysts are involved in every aspect of our business and play critical roles on banking teams serving a client base of some of the country’s largest public and private academic institutions. What will you do? Perform research, analytics, and financial modeling required to complete a transaction. Produce extensive financial analyses to structure both straight forward and complex bond offerings. Prepare projections, bond/loan portfolio analysis and modeling & related financial analyses for potential & actual capital markets transactions, including data conversion, synthesis & analysis. Gather, organize and analyze information necessary to prepare proposals, client presentations, offering statements and marketing materials. Prepare proposals and participate in presentations for prospective clients, describing in detail financing alternatives in originating, structuring and marketing a bond issue and our ability to perform the underwriting functions in a capable manner. Develop an understanding of economic and political forces affecting the higher education and bond markets through internal and external resources. Enhance the department’s use and knowledge of available information pertaining to the bond market by collecting, organizing and maintaining various marketing materials and information resources. Coordinate the various activities, internal and external, relating to pricing and settlement of bond financings. Works closely with management and investment bankers to secure closings. Develops data and analytical processing skills, a proficient knowledge of available modeling software. Other such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required, consistent with the purposes for which you are being hired and your background, experience and prior business activity. Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies in the business. Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities. Escalate operational risk/loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly. What do you need to success? Located in New York City, NY, Boston., MA, Chicago, IL, or San Francisco, CA – with flexibility for other locations, if appropriate. . BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics with demonstrated record of high achievement. Related professional financial services experience. Obtain Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 52, 63, 79 licensing (not all licenses are required for application but 52, 63 and 79 will be required shortly after hiring) Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting – able to analyze numbers proficiently, Prior experience with public-private partnerships, asset and infrastructure monetization, and mergers & acquisitions is preferred Highly motivated, committed and responsible, with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levels. Strong oral and written communication skills. The expected salary range for this particular position is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
