Healthcare IT Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will lead and coordinate digital health initiatives aimed at transforming healthcare delivery through information and communication technology. This role focuses on managing projects that improve information management and ICT processes across the provincial health sector, ensuring safe and effective implementation of healthcare software solutions. Responsibilities:

• Manage and implement information technology projects within a healthcare environment.
• Report project progress to senior clinical management.
• Ensure safe deployment of software solutions in clinical settings.
• Coordinate implementation of healthcare systems such as the Altera Sunrise suite with clinical teams.
• Lead and oversee testing and integration of healthcare information systems using HL7 standards.
• Develop operational and clinical requirements for standardizing clinical services at a provincial or state-wide level.
• Manage large, multi-stream project teams and engage high-level clinical stakeholders.
• Work remotely within Canada to deliver project outcomes.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Valid PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner or PMP certification.
• Valid PROSCI (ADKAR) Organizational Change Management certification.
• Minimum 10 years of project management experience implementing IT projects in healthcare.
• At least 5 years' experience implementing or upgrading the Altera Sunrise suite in acute care.
• At least 5 years' experience testing or coordinating HL7 standard integration of healthcare systems.
• At least 5 years' experience leading provincial or state-wide healthcare information system implementations.
• At least 5 years' experience managing large healthcare solutions and multi-stream project teams.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience coordinating with clinical resources and management for system implementations.
• Strong ability to prepare clinical staff for new system deployments.
• Proven track record of managing high-level clinical stakeholders.

Special Considerations:

• Services must be performed remotely but only from within Canada.
• Additional hours may be required, not exceeding 10% above the standard daily hours, due to changing project requirements.

Scheduling:

• Full-time engagement with a standard 7.75 hours per business day (Central Time).
• Project duration from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with an option to extend until June 30, 2027.
• Total expected hours approximately 945.5 over 122 days.
