Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Britt, Iowa, a small‑town community where more eggs are produced within a 100‑mile radius than anywhere else in the world. Our egg processing facility handles egg breaking, pasteurization, and dried egg products. A great place to live, work, and grow. Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the HR Business Partner is to support line leaders in driving plant performance. They provide support for employees and report to the plant HR Manager. The role includes coaching, influencing, and enabling customer groups, including team members and leaders, to effectively deliver their people plans. The HR Business Partner works in partnership that complements the plant leadership team and participates in HR projects that impact the entire facility. They ensure compliance with Safety, Food Safety & Quality, environmental practices and have direct line leader support responsibilities. A partner to deliver value to customer groups and their management teams in a plant environment that will enable them to develop individual employee ability resulting in increased organizational capabilities. Work in partnership with customer groups to manage employee relations issues and promote a positive customer‑service orientation. Lead generalist duties in the areas of performance management, OJT, training, talent acquisition, new employee orientation, onboarding, benefits, compensation, attendance, etc. Embed engagement, safety, and a performance‑management culture within the business area to drive improvement. Drive, influence, and support cultural and people‑based organizational change to improve efficiencies. Assist customer groups with decision‑support via HR data and metrics. Partner with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to leverage resources and support company‑wide initiatives. Provide feedback to the HR team on implementation and utilization of tools. Represent the customer’s needs at the plant level and provide feedback to the COE. Lead projects that support plant and supply‑chain initiatives to enhance HR processes. Minimize business risk and enhance culture by ensuring management is knowledgeable on required legal matters: compliance, code of conduct, diversity & sexual harassment, interviewing and selection skills, employment law, etc. Support the HR Manager and the HR team on various initiatives. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local legal and regulatory requirements. Provide outstanding customer service by responding to employee requests and giving prompt delivery of information for issues requiring escalation. Conduct audits for payroll, benefits, or other HR programs. Enter new hires, update and maintain Human Resources Information System records and compile reports. Conduct and document workplace investigations, including PIP. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone; adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs. Adhere to quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality is maintained. Qualifications Education and experience required: B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. Or equivalent experience/education. 5+ years of increasing generalist responsibility within Human Resources in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success managing projects.
