Senior Automation Engineer

Overview We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in Henderson, NV. Your role: Serve as Automation Discipline Lead for major capital and greenfield projects within the US Minerals & Metals sector, providing technical leadership, oversight, and accountability for automation scope delivery. Lead the development, coordination, and approval of automation and control system engineering deliverables in accordance with AtkinsRéalis quality standards, project procedures, and applicable US codes. Provide technical direction for the preparation of control philosophies, P&IDs, I/O lists, alarm rationalization, cause & effect matrices, and overall control system architectures (PLC/DCS/SCADA). Oversee instrumentation and control system design activities, including instrument selection, specifications, datasheets, and integration with mechanical and process equipment packages. Lead and participate in process safety activities such as HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA studies, ensuring compliance with ISA, IEC, NFPA, NEC, and client‑specific requirements. Interface effectively with other disciplines, vendors, OEMs, and construction teams; review and approve vendor documentation and technical submittals for compliance and constructability. About You Degree in Instrumentation/Control Systems from an accredited University or College. 12+ years of instrumentation design experience. Proven track record of successful projects. Highly motivated and organized. Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to engineers and designers, and support commissioning activities (FAT/SAT, loop checks) with clear technical reporting to project and client management.
