Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology (Fellow)-CHLA

Overview The University of Southern California (USC) is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles and part of a world-class research university. The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), in the Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology, are actively seeking MD (or MD/PhD) candidates for a 1-2 year post-ophthalmology residency fellowship in ocular oncology under the leadership of Jesse L. Berry, MD and Liya Xu, PhD. This is an academic position of a USC Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology (Fellow). Fellowship Details The fellowship is a full-time commitment. Upon completion, fellows will become experts in the field of ocular oncology with multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment experience for patients with retinoblastoma, ocular melanoma, ocular squamous cell carcinoma, and other rare ocular malignancies, and will coordinate care with the health care team and medical system. A stipend is provided. The fellow divides time between USC Roski Eye Institute, Los Angeles General Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Fellowship applicants must have completed an accredited residency in ophthalmology and must be Board certified or Board eligible. Currently, we sponsor visas for applicants who can obtain an unrestricted California medical license, which is a requirement to begin the fellowship. It may be possible to apply for a California medical license online. Most Canadian applicants are eligible for a California medical license. Compensation and Terms The annual base salary range for this position is $92,500-$96,000.
