The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility for the software artifacts produced, adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the Agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.This role supports both iOS and Android mobile platforms. The ideal candidate has experience developing mobile platform capabilities, backend-integrated mobile solutions, SDKs, and services that enable secure, scalable, and reliable mobile experiences. While familiarity with iOS development is important, this position requires the flexibility to contribute across both platforms as business priorities evolve.Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining productsTakes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable codeConsistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability, and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designsPerforms analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvementsMakes sound design and coding decisions while keeping customer experience at the forefrontTakes feedback from code reviews and applies changes to meet standardsConducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development proceduresAccountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practicesExhibits relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards embedded into development practicesReviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before escalation*This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship*Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceThree to five years of relevant experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceExperience building mobile platform services, SDKs, and backend-driven mobile applications across iOS and Android environmentsWorking knowledge of Swift and/or Objective-C (iOS) and experience with Java and/or Kotlin (Android)Experience developing features that integrate with backend systems, APIs, messaging frameworks, authentication services, and enterprise platformsExperience with RESTful APIs, service integration, and mobile-to-backend communication patternsExperience developing and consuming mobile SDKs, reusable libraries, platform components, and shared mobile frameworksStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across mobile applications, backend services, and distributed systemsExperience supporting high-scale, production-grade applications and servicesUnderstanding of application performance, monitoring, observability, and stability across mobile and backend ecosystemsExperience in C++ is a plus but not requiredKnowledge of Payments and/or FinTech industry is a plus but not requiredExperience working in Agile and DevOps environments with a focus on software quality, reliability, and continuous deliveryLocation expectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to ourdisability accommodations for applicants.Benefits:Our approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
