Distributed Organizer

Red Wine & Blue is a national community of over 600,000 diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time. Red Wine & Blue's distributed organizing program is looking for a full-time Distributed Organizer to support and guide grassroots leaders across the pacific U.S. In this role, you'll help volunteers develop and grow their own RWB network groups within our national grassroots movement.

You'll build relationships, get to know passionate individuals, and brainstorm creative ways to support their efforts. Most importantly, you'll provide the encouragement and hands-on support they need as they take their first—sometimes scary—steps into leadership. This role does not directly supervise any team members, and reports to the Deputy Director of Distributed Organizing. It is a full-time position that can be performed from anywhere in California or Oregon. You must currently live in one of these states. We are unable to consider candidates who would need to, or are in the process of relocating, and relocation expenses are not covered. Occasional (quarterly) travel is required for in-person meetings, all-staff gatherings, and TroubleNation leader development.

Growth and Stewardship of Local Groups

• Serve as the primary organizer for local group leaders in states across the U.S. Pacific which includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
• Provide personalized support to local group leaders, tailoring engagement based on the strategic priority of each area.
• Develop and expand local groups in areas and populations not currently represented.

Event Coordination and Leader Development

• Plan and execute state- and regional-wide events to foster community, provide education and strengthen leader engagement.
• Encourage and support one-on-one meetings and cohort-based collaboration among leaders.
• Identify, mentor, and develop emerging local group leaders.

Other Responsibilities

• Assist in regularly-scheduled training and meetings, both internally and externally.
• Evening and weekend availability required for in-person events in the targeted area.
• Support additional projects and duties as assigned.

• Experience: You have a natural ability to connect with people from all different walks of life. You're the one who people look to connect when they want to get sh*t done and you can plan an event in your sleep. You know that one-on-one conversations are a great way to motivate people. Relational organizing experience is a plus.
• Expert communicator: You have strong written and oral communication skills and aren't afraid of public speaking.
• Relationship Builder: You are a warm, welcoming, and patient connector of people. You're willing to hold the hands of leaders in a non-judgmental manner.
• Inclusive: You work effectively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives. You know how to connect with women who may not consider themselves "political" or who may hold different views, finding common ground through shared values.
• Flexible - You are comfortable navigating sometimes ambiguous work with competing priorities. You are nimble and can effectively shift focus when the need arises.
• Organized & Productive - You have the ability to radically prioritize tasks and plan your days to meet goals. You have excellent project management skills.
• Growth Mindset - You have the ability to fail fast and win fast because you know that we learn as much from failure as we do success. You are not afraid to take risks, think outside the box and give or receive feedback.
• Playfully Passionate : Your ability to get sh*t done is accompanied by your love for fun. You understand that we can do serious work without taking ourselves too seriously.

• Remote & Flexible: All Red Wine & Blue staff members work remotely, running virtual operations nationally and on the ground in three states. Candidates must reside in one of the two states: California or Oregon. Candidates who do not live in one of these states will not be considered.
• Generous Time Off: RWB offers a robust time-off package that includes up to 15 days of PTO, up to 15 days of sick time off, paid federal holidays, and additional organization-wide breaks, such as a full week for Thanksgiving and a winter break each year. Full-time employees also receive a generous amount of additional time off and wellbeing considerations designed to support rest, wellness, and balance
• Competitive Pay & Benefits: The starting salary range for this position is $52,500. We take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly regardless of their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary, we cover 75% of employee medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums. RWB offers an up to 4% employer match on retirement plans and new employees are eligible after 90 days of employment.
