Human Resource Analyst Trainee (Administration and Management Trainee)

THE POSITION

Human Resource Analyst Trainee - Grow Your Skills, Solve Real Problems, Make an Impact! Are you curious, analytical, and excited to learn how organizations really work? Step into a training level role where you will build a strong foundation in position classification and organization management (OM) - while helping Commonwealth agencies solve real workforce challenges. As a Human Resource Analyst Trainee, you will participate in a 12-month development program that combines hands-on experience, close mentorship, and formal training. You will learn how to analyze jobs, understand organizational structures, collaborate with customers, and help agencies operate more effectively.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Program Understanding: Develop an understanding of agency operations to identify classification, pay, and organizational needs Collaboration: Work with supervisors, consultants, HR staff, and leaders to explore options and deliver customer focused solutions Desk Audits: Participate in employee and supervisor interviews to understand real world duties and responsibilities Data Analysis: Research and analyze information to support job evaluations and organizational assessments Job Comparison: Compare job duties to job specifications to determine appropriate classifications Assignment Evaluation: Evaluate temporary working out of classification assignments and reporting relationship updates Talent Support: Assist agencies during hiring workflows by reviewing position descriptions for classification accuracy Worksite Visits: Visit worksites to observe duties, gather information, and build understanding of how jobs function Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Work schedule is negotiable. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.
