Be a part of the Zingerman’s Deli Catering Team! If you are interested in a fast paced, fun and friendly environment and would like to be part of our Catering Kitchen Staff –we’d love to have you on our team! You are the front line of the catering production team–preparing and delivering awesome meals–and working with the rest of our Catering team to deliver the Zingerman’s Experience at celebrations and gatherings in Ann Arbor and all over Southeast Michigan! This full-time position pays $19-$21/hour (that rate includes tips). You’ll also get a free meal on each shift, a paid break, a staff discount at all Zingerman’s businesses, access to health insurance, a super discounted bus pass, and lots of other staff benefits. Saturday, Sunday and Monday availability is a must to be considered for this position.

• Full-time and part-time hourly positions available
• Some Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays are a must (you must meet schedule availability requirements to be considered for this position)
• The weekly hours vary based on business volume (32 to 40 hours with some occasional overtime)
• The shifts are primarily in the morning, normally beginning between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
• The daily work is divided between food preparation and making deliveries to clients
• $19-$21* based on experience. *Includes tips

Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:

• Preps various food items such as fruits, vegetables, and meats uses various equipment such as slicers and knives
• Has basic kitchen and knife skills
• Performs work station sanitation properly
• Cooks various catering menu items using ovens, grill, and stovetop
• Builds and arranges food attractively for presentation to our guests
• Sets up the food for our guests on location when needed
• Loads, unloads, and delivers products and materials for events
• Follows Zingerman's Guide to Driving
• Provides great service to guests and staff
• Works well in a team environment
• Works in a variety of environments, including small spaces, depending on event locations

Performance Expectations - Other Functions:

• May assist with produce ordering as needed
• May assist with other duties during events as needed

Success Patterns for this position:

• Has intermediate to advanced kitchen prep and knife skills
• Has food preparation experience (or equivalent combination of culinary education and experience)
• Enjoys giving great service to guests
• Has experience making deliveries to homes or office buildings
• Has experience driving a van or a larger delivery truck
• Exhibits above average organizational and communication skills
• Has a valid Driver's License and a good to perfect driving record with no license restrictions
• Able to work with a sense of urgency and prioritize tasks.
• Comfortable bending, lifting, and being on your feet for an 8 hour kitchen shift
• Can lift and carry up to 40 pounds up and down stairs
