Dean of the Grossman School of Business (GSB) Approached to lead the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont (UVM) as a dynamic, visionary, and entrepreneurial academic leader. The dean will elevate GSB’s national and global reputation, champion student success, foster research excellence, and build strategic partnerships that advance UVM’s mission of sustainability, equity, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Implement and shape GSB’s vision and strategy, lead strategic plan implementation, and drive measurable action in alignment with student learning outcomes. Contribute to UVM’s recent Carnegie R1 designation by expanding research portfolio, supporting faculty research and publishing, and fostering interdisciplinary initiatives. Enhance the profile and increase impact of GSB through promotion of faculty, students, and programs, and by establishing strategic partnerships and innovative offerings. Manage resources wisely and develop additional resources, including securing new funding, effective fundraising, and expanding revenue‑generating programs. Foster academic excellence, assessment, and student success, including robust evaluation of programs, career services enhancement, and strategic recruitment and retention. Professional Qualifications and Personal Qualities Earned doctorate with strong scholarly record and applied industry experience. Significant administrative experience including financial management, fundraising, faculty supervision, and accreditation support. Experience building academic‑industry partnerships and aligning academic initiatives with industry trends. Expertise in strategic planning, project management, and financial stewardship, ideally within a unionized environment. Proven success in alumni engagement, fundraising, grant acquisition, and strategic partnership cultivation. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and support faculty at all ranks, fostering academic excellence and shared governance. Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of launching online, executive, and innovative academic programs. Deep passion for student success, well‑being, and empowerment. People‑centered leadership, open‑door transparency, and commitment to integrity, empathy, and empowerment. Commitment to champion ESG principles across curriculum, research, and operations, supporting UVM’s land‑grant mission.
