Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Responsible for working with new providers and existing providers to collect all required information during the initial on-boarding and re-credentialing process.
  2. Screen provider applications and supporting documentation to ascertain their eligibility
  3. Identify discrepancies in information and conduct follow-up
  4. Provide consistent and timely follow-up on all outstanding credentialing/re-credentialing files as well as expiring documents.
  5. Completes primary and secondary source verifications.
  6. Accurately enters and maintains provider and facility information in credentialing software.
  7. Assist with credentialing inquires.
  8. Assist providers with obtaining licenses.
  9. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures and policies.
  10. Track license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals
  11. Creates and Maintains provider and facility files electronically and ensures files contain all current copies of all expirable documents.

Work Environment

This is a remote position. Must have designated office area.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - including Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Familiar with Internet
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards a plus
  • Experience with credentialing software a plus
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
