Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S Border Patrol, Swanton Sector, Ogdensburg Station, located in Ogdensburg NY. Learn more about this agency Duties Help In this Mission Support Specialist role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in performing a wide variety of administrative, research, and analytical duties and special assignments related to the missions and functions of the agency. This position starts at a salary of $61,722.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $80,243.00 (GS-09, Step 10) GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Typical duties of this assignment include:
- Assisting in providing direct advice and guidance to USBP employees at headquarters and throughout the sector and independently coordinates the work of the assigned office for all administrative duties to include budget, inventory, property, fleet, workforce management, workers compensation, payroll, and travel.
- Performing basic database queries to conduct analysis of data used by management.
- Serving as the assigned sector supplies specialist and facilitates tracking and support in maintaining vehicle board with current mileage, assigned agent, and next service due.
- Completing monthly purchase card statement reconciliation.

- Providing direct advice and guidance to employees at different levels of the organization.
- Using databases and automated systems to prepare reports.
- Developing tracking/filing systems for all incoming and outgoing documents.
- Assisting in performing physical inventory and reporting inventory status (to include missing items, and items not listed on the station inventory).
- Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
- Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 07/29/2026.
