Electronics Assembly Technician I – Role Overview CesiumAstro, a developer of communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms, is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician I. The technician supports the build, quality, and on‑time delivery of electronic hardware by performing routine assembly, inspection, and production tasks under close supervision. This entry‑level role follows established work instructions, drawings, and quality standards to assemble circuit cards and final electronic assemblies used in advanced aerospace and communications products. The technician will also assist with inventory, material movement, or other production support activities as needed. Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or GED. 0–1 year of experience in electronic assembly operations such as SMT, AOI, component prep, X‑ray, de‑paneling, and soldering. Experience interpreting schematics, drawings, diagrams, and other visual aids for assembly. Ability to work with team members to ensure production roles are clear. Ability to regularly communicate with engineers and design staff to ensure designs are implemented correctly. Experience using tools to make or repair parts and products. Excellent hand‑eye coordination. Ability to differentiate between colors to identify colored electrical wires. Attention to detail and maintenance of a clean workspace. Ability to read parts lists and confirm all parts are present. Familiarity with routine preventive maintenance. Experience maintaining inventory and placing orders for supplies as needed. Basic computer skills to complete quality control forms. Familiarity working in an ESD and FOD‑controlled environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow strict safety guidelines.
