The Seamstress / Sewing & Embroidery Production Specialist is responsible for sewing and finishing fabric graphics used in trade show displays, exhibits, and events. This includes silicone edge graphics (SEG), other display graphics, and table throws. Depending on experience and training, this position may also operate embroidery equipment and fulfill individual embroidered apparel orders. This role requires strong attention to detail, accurate measurements, consistent sewing quality, and the ability to organize multiple orders and meet production deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Display Graphics and Table Throws Sew silicone edging onto SEG graphics according to the required dimensions and specifications. Sew and finish fabric graphics for trade show displays and exhibit structures. Produce fitted, convertible, and standard table throws. Complete hems, seams, hook-and-loop fasteners, pole pockets, zippers, and other finishing methods as required. Review work orders, measurements, and production instructions before beginning each project. Inspect printed fabric for defects, damage, incorrect sizing, or other issues before sewing. Ensure finished graphics are properly aligned, securely sewn, and sized to fit the intended display hardware. Trim loose threads and complete final quality-control checks. Fold, package, and label finished graphics for inventory, shipment, or installation. Communicate material shortages, production concerns, or specification questions to the appropriate team member. Maintain an organized work area and properly care for sewing machines, tools, and supplies. Embroidery and Individual Order Fulfillment Embroidery responsibilities may be assigned based on the employee’s experience and training. Review embroidery work orders for garment, size, color, logo, thread color, and placement requirements. Sort garments by customer, order, style, size, and decoration instructions. Hoop and prepare garments for embroidery. Load approved embroidery files and operate commercial embroidery equipment. Monitor embroidery production and correct thread breaks, alignment issues, and other routine production problems. Inspect completed embroidery for placement, quality, accuracy, and garment damage. Remove backing and excess thread and prepare garments for final fulfillment. Match completed garments to individual customer orders. Fold or bag each garment and apply the correct customer, size, order, and shipping labels. Verify order quantities and contents before orders are packed or released for shipment. Quality and Production Expectations Follow work orders and approved specifications accurately. Produce clean, straight, and durable stitching. Maintain consistent quality while meeting production deadlines. Identify and report errors before products move to the next production stage. Handle customer‑owned garments and printed graphics carefully to prevent damage or waste. Keep orders separated and accurately labeled throughout production. Assist with production priorities and other related duties when needed. Qualifications Professional or production sewing experience preferred. Experience sewing large‑format fabric graphics, SEG graphics, or table linens is preferred but not required. Commercial embroidery experience is preferred for employees assigned embroidery responsibilities. Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and related tools safely. Ability to read measurements, work orders, and basic production instructions. Strong attention to detail and quality. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Willingness to learn new materials, sewing methods, display systems, and equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while operating production equipment. Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed sewing, trimming, hooping, folding, and labeling work. Ability to handle large pieces of fabric and move garments through the production process. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry materials, garment boxes, and production supplies weighing up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Visual ability sufficient to inspect stitching, embroidery placement, colors, and small production details. This position works in a production and warehouse environment near sewing, embroidery, printing, and other manufacturing equipment. The employee must follow all equipment instructions and workplace safety procedures.
