Boarding School Cook Supervisor (7412)

Cook Supervisor – Genuine Foods – Boston, MA This role will be located in our commissary kitchen setting, acting as an acting sous chef responsible for executing the daily/weekly menu in accordance with Genuine recipes, managing the day-to-day operations of the commissary, and leading a team of cooks. Responsibilities Ensure food safety standards are being followed at all times. Cook and prep food correctly based on recipes and specifications provided from the Chef/Genuine Foods. Communicate with the Chef Manager on any pertinent issues with product, staffing, timing, etc. Manage cooks and assistant supervisors to ensure they are following proper Genuine standards, recipes, etc., while providing guidance and training. Act as the lead in the absence of the Chef Manager. Maintain standards as outlined by the Department of Health for a food-safe environment and report any issues immediately, such as equipment or facility-related issues. Coordinate with team members to ensure all food is prepared on time for delivery. Maintain a clean working environment and help the team with any additional cleaning duties. Keep the area stocked and organized. Perform any additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be flexible & team-oriented! 2+ year of line cook or culinary experience. 1+ year of management experience. Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program. Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level-headedness. Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy. Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
