The Crane Steakhouse is looking for a friendly, professional, and dependable Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. The host is the first and last impression of our restaurant and plays an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and the waitlist
- Seat guests efficiently and maintain proper table rotation
- Answer restaurant phone calls and assist with guest questions
- Communicate with servers and management regarding reservations and seating
- Set and prepare tables before and during service
- Clear, clean, and reset tables for incoming guests
- Keep tables, chairs, menus, and surrounding dining areas clean and presentable
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entrance
- Assist servers and other front-of-house team members when needed
- Help prepare the dining room before opening and maintain its appearance throughout the shift
- Thank guests as they leave and help create a welcoming experience from arrival to departure
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
- Fine-dining or upscale restaurant experience is a plus
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with guests
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to multitask and work efficiently during busy service
- Willing to stay active and help the team during downtime
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to stand and move throughout the shift
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
