Director of Finance - Private Equity

Carolwood LP is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead finance oversight across the firm’s private equity portfolio. This individual will serve as the senior finance resource for the Private Equity group and its portfolio companies, with responsibility spanning financial reporting, treasury, controllership, budgeting and forecasting, liquidity management, and finance-related transaction execution. The Director will work closely with Carolwood’s investment team, portfolio company management teams, and external advisors from acquisition through exit. Carolwood focuses on asset-intensive, heavily entangled corporate divestitures . The Director will oversee portfolio company finance functions and, as needed, step into interim CFO, Treasurer, Controller, or other senior finance roles , particularly during periods of separation and transition. Key Responsibilities Oversee finance functions and financial performance across Carolwood’s Private Equity portfolio. Serve as the primary finance resource between Carolwood’s investment team and portfolio company finance organizations. Assume interim CFO, Treasurer, Controller, or similar responsibilities at portfolio companies when required. Establish, strengthen, and professionalize portfolio company finance and accounting functions. Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, liquidity planning, and financial reporting processes. Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs to provide timely visibility into portfolio company performance. Support the development and implementation of appropriate internal controls, reporting procedures, and financial governance. Support acquisition integration and transition planning. Coordinate with third-party accounting, tax, audit, consulting, and other financial advisors. Support financing processes and ongoing relationships with lenders and other capital providers. Qualifications & Requirements 12+ years of operational finance experience Experience with corporate divestitures and/or standalone company formation strongly preferred . Experience within Industrials and/or Consumer businesses with owned/operated manufacturing and real estate strongly preferred . Private equity portfolio company, private equity operating team, or similarly transaction-oriented experience preferred. Strong financial judgment and the ability to identify and address financial, accounting, liquidity, and operational issues quickly. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, transitional, and resource-constrained environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with investment professionals, CEOs, boards, lenders, advisors, and finance teams.
