Growing together.The Medical Assistant position is responsible for coordinating and assisting the provider to ensure safe quality/cost-effective service and care for the people within the practice population. This position will also be responsible for providing technical clinical services and clerical support for the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, a physician, or a mid-level practitioner.This position will work on-site at: Summit Rheumatology in Casa Grande, AZRequired Work Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through ThursdayPrimary Responsibilities:Collects patient assessment data to include height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, and current medications for assessment by licensed staffPrepares the patient for provider evaluation by obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, listing medications, and assisting during exams and proceduresMaintains work area, exam treatment, and lab in a clean, safe manner; restock with supplies as neededAssists with lab procedures by collecting urine specimens, collecting, and preparing blood samples for reference lab; labeling all specimens with accurate patient ID as ordered by the physicianDocuments patient information in the medical record to include updated treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns, etc.Assists and processes all scripts, referrals, and authorizations as neededManages flow of patient care, while ensuring phones are being answered, and appointments are as efficient as possibleSchedules patients for injections and infusionsOrders supplies and medications. Check both into and out of inventoryPerforms diagnostic testing proceduresYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited medical assistant programCurrent, active BLS2+ years of Phlebotomy experience1+ years of clinic experienceProficiency with MS OutlookAdministrative Skills: Demonstrated ability to comfortably relay information to patients in-person and via phonePreferred Qualifications:Current MA CertificationEMR / ECW experienceExperience with eClinicalWorksExperience working in both front and back office of a medical clinicExperience with Prior AuthorizationsExperience with Insurance VerificationsSpecialty experience in Dermatology, Gastroenterology or NephrologyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
