What You Will Be Doing: Establish and maintain an effective data governance framework and ensure the integrity, quality, and security of our data assets. Play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making, promoting data stewardship, and ensuring compliance with data-related regulations and policies.What We're Looking For: Bachelor's or Master's degree in data management, information systems, privacy law or a related field is preferred.Proven experience (10+ years) in data governance, data management, or a related role, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry typically required.Strong understanding of data governance principles, data management practices, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and industry standards for data management.Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies, such as data cataloging tools, metadata management tools, and data lineage tools.Experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards.Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations and best practices for data protection.Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage data governance initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy, data quality, and attention to detail.Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Shelter's uncompromising commitment to excellence doesn't stop with our customers.
