Ophthalmic Photographer (934316) Works under minimum supervision to provide supervisory and technical skills in operation and maintenance of ACTC Ophthalmology Clinical Diagnostic Photography and Fluorescein Angiography Laboratory. Manages and supervises activities and personnel of laboratory. The Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to support patient care across both Dallas – Aston and Richardson – North Dallas locations. This role coordinates patient scheduling for ophthalmic photography and angiography, performs specialized imaging studies as ordered by physicians, and ensures timely upload of images into the Electronic Medical Record for clinical review. The Ophthalmic Photographer collaborates with physicians to evaluate image quality and assists in training in fundus photography techniques. Additionally, the role includes maintaining and troubleshooting imaging equipment and ensuring accurate, compliant management of patient records. This position involves direct patient interaction and supports both clinical care and research-related activities. Preferred College or vocational training in ophthalmic diagnostic photography and angiography 1 year of clinical trials/research experience Job Duties Coordinates patient scheduling for diagnostic photography and angiography of eye. Maintains patient records. Performs ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic studies as designated by the ordering physician, uploading images to the Electronic Medical Record for review. Reviews with ordering physician quality of work performed. Prepares photographic material for weekly Retina Conferences and ophthalmic photographic exhibits at meetings of ophthalmologist and/or ophthalmic photographers. Instructs resident physicians in fundus photography procedures. Maintains and repairs ophthalmic photography equipment at laboratory. Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human‑subject research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human‑subject research records. Performs other duties as assigned.
