Senior Associate, Finance & Accounting | #2 to CFO | PE-Backed Fintech Platform

A private equity-backed finance platform is seeking a high-caliber accounting professional to join its lean and growing finance team. The firm manages approximately $2B+ in assets and is expanding its internal finance infrastructure. This foundational hire will report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in building scalable accounting and finance processes. Key Responsibilities Taking full ownership of the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables. Strengthen existing accounting processes to ensure scalability, accuracy, and GAAP alignment. Manage accounting workflows, including revenue recognition and day-to-day transaction oversight. Develop and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity, and supporting broader FP&A initiatives. Partnering closely with the Chief Financial Officer on financial modeling, reporting automation, and infrastructure improvements. Leveraging NetSuite to enhance reporting capabilities, automate manual processes, and improve data integrity across the organization. Supporting the continued build-out of the firm’s internal fund administration capabilities and overall finance function. Ideal Background 3–8 years of experience in Big 4 / Big 10 public accounting or growth-stage startup environments. CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred. Strong NetSuite experience, particularly around reporting, automation, and data manipulation. Highly analytical with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Adaptable, low-ego mentality with comfort balancing strategic and hands‑on work. Hybrid schedule (generally 2 days in‑office with flexibility during key periods). Lean, fast-moving environment with evolving responsibilities.
