Job Summary Position: Clinical Nursing Adjunct Instructor Location: Nebraska Methodist College, 720 N. 87th St., Omaha, NE Schedule: Clinical hours vary between 6, 8, 10, and 12‑hour shifts on weekdays during daylight hours Key Responsibilities Lead and facilitate engaging clinical experiences for nursing students, guiding them through hands‑on patient care scenarios Collaborate with faculty to design and deliver innovative, evidence‑based nursing curriculum Cultivate a supportive and interactive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, clinical judgment, and compassionate care Mentor and advise students, providing constructive feedback to enhance clinical skills and professional development Stay current with industry trends and best practices, infusing real‑world insights into all instructional settings Demonstrate effective instructional methodology and facilitate clear learning objectives through thorough planning and preparation for classroom, laboratory, and clinical sessions Communicate with students and challenge them to exceed required learning outcomes while maintaining professional appearance and integrity Participate in required meetings and events, support college strategic initiatives, and fulfill mandatory job requirements (e.g., timely submission of syllabi and grades, maintenance of certification/licensure) Education & Qualifications Master’s of Science in Nursing degree required; enrollment in an MSN program will also be considered Completion of a terminal degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 semester hours is required; master’s or doctoral degree preferred Nebraska licensure and national certifications required of faculty employed at Nebraska Methodist College Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an area relevant to program assignment Teaching at the post‑secondary level is preferred License/Certifications Appropriate Nebraska licensure and national certifications must be held Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Ability to provide academic instruction, read, analyze, interpret, and grade assignments in a higher education environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with personal computer and standard office applications Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles Skill in effective use of resources including time, information, and available services Commitment to the college mission statement and its values Physical Requirements Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force Medium work (students completing clinical assignments): exerting up to 50 pounds of force Occasional activities such as balancing, climbing, carrying, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling/pushing, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, twisting, walking Frequent activities such as hearing, repetitive motions, seeing/visual, speaking/talking Constant activities such as fingering/tying, grasping, keyboarding/typing, sitting Job Hazards Biological agents related to patient contact (e.g., blood‑borne viruses) Physical hazards such as noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps Mechanical and electrical hazards, including exposure to static and low‑level radiation Exposure to chemical agents, explosives, and other uncommon workplace risks as documented in the full hazards list EEO Statement Nebraska Methodist Health System is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other classification protected by Federal, state or local law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Nebraska Methodist Health System
