Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Emporia, VA

Job Description

Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Take your expertise in speech-language pathology to the next level by supporting K-12 students on a contract basis in the Emporia, VA area. This opportunity offers two onsite SLP or SLPA positions, with supervision available for SLPAs from an experienced virtual SLP, ensuring high-quality support for both staff and students. Enjoy the dynamic school environment across 1-3 sites during the academic year from August 3, 2026, to May 21, 2027.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

SLP or SLP-CCC licensure; SLPA candidates encouraged to apply
Eligible for Virginia licensure or certification as required
Comfortable working with K-12 caseloads across multiple school sites
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
Ability to adapt interventions and support to diverse student needs
Experience with virtual supervision a plus for SLPA candidates

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct therapy services and interventions to K-12 students
Conduct assessments and help develop IEPs in collaboration with school teams
Support students’ speech, language, and communication needs within the school setting
Track student progress, maintain documentation, and report outcomes
Consult and collaborate closely with educators and families to maximize student potential
Travel between assigned sites as needed (within reasonable proximity)
