Salary Range

$130,000 - $155,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in the initial engineering development of capital projects
• Prepare project descriptions, budgets, cost estimates, timelines, and justifications
• Support operations with capital budget requests, selection processes, and approvals
• Draft and submit capital budget requests as necessary
• Generate requests for proposals, bid documentation, specifications, and contracts
• Assess bids for construction, equipment, and services, and facilitate the selection of successful bidders
• Coordinate necessary permits for projects
• Oversee technical studies, surveys, and site inspections
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and project managers
• Collaborate closely with vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, engineers, and plant staff throughout project planning and execution
• Manage overall project activities and coordinate the project team members
• Work with purchasing to create purchase requisitions
• Monitor project costs by approving expenditures and comparing actual costs to budgeted amounts
• Maintain project schedules and organize project meetings
• Prepare status reports detailing activities, budget, and schedule updates
• Oversee construction activities as required
• Ensure projects are executed in compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and organizational requirements
• Guarantee that projects meet established goals, specifications, quality standards, budget constraints, timelines, and performance metrics
• Provide technical expertise in the relevant engineering discipline

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.

Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing industrial or manufacturing projects
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities
• Capable of working under pressure and resolving issues as they arise
• Willingness to travel as necessary
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and plans
• Strong skills in cost estimation and scheduling

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the construction materials sector
• Familiarity with Microsoft Projects or Primavera software
• Experience using AutoCAD
• Knowledge of SAP business systems

Employment Conditions

The selected candidate will be required to undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, and a background check. Certain positions may necessitate registration or clearance from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) along with ongoing drug and alcohol testing. For roles based in the San Francisco area, applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
