Job Opportunity At Iberia Comprehensive Health CenterIberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including dental care. Our dental services provide a full array of preventative and restorative dental services for patients three years of age and over.ICCHC is currently seeking multiple full time Dental Hygienists for its New Iberia, St. Martinville, and Abbeville locations.This position works under the supervision of Staff Dentists and the Dental Director. Responsible for the care of patients by performing general dental hygiene procedures. The normal work period consists of 80 hours/two weeks; sometimes more hours, sometimes less hours, or as needed to provide departmental coverage according to patient demand.Principal duties and responsibilities include:Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teethTake and develop dental x-raysConduct oral cancer screeningsAdminister local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as neededEducate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructionsAssist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile working environmentDocument patient care and treatment plans in electronic medical coding systemsQualifications:Valid dental hygiene Louisiana licenseAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited programProficiency in using electronic medical coding systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to work with precisionKnowledge of dental terminology and proceduresAbility to work well in a team environment
