Position Summary:  The Senior Quality Manager will either supervise the Quality activities of one or more plants or will provide backup to a series of plants within a region. Responsible for ensuring that products/materials/services supplied/provided to customers meet the contractual requirements established by customers and procedures. This position is also required to assure that a quality program is implemented and maintained which will allow a consistent quality standard to be maintained. He/she has the organizational freedom to identify problems related to quality and correct, initiate action for their correction, or stop any work or activity that violates the established quality standards.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

· Implement and maintain the Bodycote Quality System (BQS - a documented quality program) to meet customer requirements and corporate standards.

· Direct and supervise the work of the quality department employees.

· Provide procedures, as required, to support quality department objectives.

· Provide training to individuals whose work affects quality issues in the requirements of the BQS.

· Review customer proposals, requests for quotations and/or purchase orders, including changes, to determine quality requirements, and insure their input into internal planning.

· Establish/maintain relations with customer representatives in quality related activities, including source inspection, audits and process surveys.

· Interface with other departments to provide assistance, resolve problems and monitor work affecting quality.

· Perform activities defined in the BQS responsibility matrix.

· Monitor and audit responsibilities defined in responsibility matrix.

· Ensure conformance to quality program requirements through external/internal audits, corrective action program and qualify associates through testing and training.

· Maintain supplier qualification to insure their ability to perform work meeting quality standards and obtaining process approvals.

· Acts as a member of the management team and performs other duties as dictated by position or required by the General Manager.

· Practice and promotes safety and good housekeeping

· Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS

· Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

· This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.

· Engineering degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Related Manufacturing field required.

· Requires experience and practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems; preferred to have direct experience in heat treatment of commercial or aerospace alloys.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Control and 2 years direct supervisory experience.

· Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language to interface with management and all levels, both in-house and at customer’s place of business.

· Must be capable of making written recommendations for improving Quality Assurance Systems and Procedures.

· Must be thoroughly familiar with Aerospace quality systems.

· Must be capable of writing general procedures for heat treatment of specific alloys, in accordance with customer needs.

· Must be thoroughly familiar with commercial (AMS, ASTM), aircraft and aerospace specification, ISO, AS, QS and TS quality systems.

· Must be familiar with Root Cause Corrective Action investigations and Corrective Action Management

· Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and purchase orders.

· Must be able to plan and execute projects and activities to specific timelines..

· Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required

· Nadcap experience required; Nadcap Heat Treat Experience preferred

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

· Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment

· Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions

· Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions

· Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

· May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.

· Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions

· Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing

· Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

· Ability to hear in person and via phone
