About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: HVI Proc EP Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Nursing care - Patient assessment - Plan of care - Nursing interventions - Patient care procedures Description: Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards, based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes the initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Evaluates and enhances nursing practice by utilizing the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and Scope and Standards of Practice to provide direct 1:1 patient care. Administers moderate sedation and other medications safely by following policies. Performs hemodynamic monitoring, identifies potential life-threatening arrhythmias, and implements appropriate clinical treatment. Collaborates with patients and families to answer questions and provide emotional support when needed. Enhances patient care activities and acts as a safety advocate through participation in ongoing quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects. Coordinates safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team. Recognizes and adapts to potential changes in procedures while responding to emergent situations. Participates in a collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive staff team, comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists. Administers medications necessary for procedures. Manages care of patients during moderate sedation. Monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures. Provides outline documentation of procedure events. Understands the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures. Participates in programmed electrical stimulation directed by the physician.
