Registered Respiratory Therapist

CentraState Medical Center is currently seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its team. Working under medical supervision, the therapist will evaluate, treat, and manage acutely ill patients of all ages who present with abnormalities, deficiencies, or failure of the cardio-pulmonary system. The role begins with a comprehensive departmental orientation, during which the practitioner must demonstrate proficiency across all areas of respiratory care before practicing independently. Continued professional development is supported through annual Skills Day evaluations and performance reviews conducted with a supervisor. Additionally, specialized procedures such as arterial blood gas collection and intubation require focused orientation and annual supervised review to ensure ongoing competency.

Responsibilities

1. Performs and evaluates arterial puncture and analysis.
2. Performs patient assessment and recommends appropriate interventions.
3. Performs proper documentation to include, but not limited to, acuity, charges, productivity, patient education, etc.
4. Performs appropriate routine oxygen and therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.
5. Performs appropriate invasive and non-invasive ventilation interventions.
6. Performs appropriately in all code and patient crisis interventions.
7. Performs appropriately in all pediatric and neonatal interventions.
8. Maintains conservative use of all organizational resources.
9. Performs draw and analysis of ABG.
10. Performs intubation if certified to do so.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved training program in Respiratory Therapy.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
• NJ State License required.
• Registration by the NBRC required.
• CPR Certification required.
• ACLS and PALS Certifications preferred.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
• Strong customer service skills.

Compensation Range: $38.00 - $64.60 per hour

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training. As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range.

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
